Sector Specific Competitiveness

UNIDO implements technical cooperation projects for specific key manufacturing sectors in India with a view to foster enhanced productivity and trade capacities of MSMEs in these sectors through technology-led solutions and manufacturing excellence approaches.

These projects comprise a wide variety of technical interventions, formulated on the basis of detailed diagnostic and benchmarking assessments. The interventions include focused activities such as technical training and capacity building of key stakeholders, setting up/upgrading of common facilities, facilitation of partnerships between Indian institutions and their international counterparts, technology demonstrations, expert handholding and guidance for process improvements and optimization and widespread dissemination of best available technologies and good manufacturing practices.
